Retatrutide: Is It Available Yet, and What Will It Cost?
Status as of October 11, 2026 · Español
Short answer. No. Retatrutide is not FDA-approved yet, so it can’t be legally prescribed or filled at a U.S. pharmacy, and it has no price. Here is where it stands and what you can price today.
What is retatrutide?
Retatrutide is an experimental once-weekly medicine from Eli Lilly that activates three hormone receptors: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon.1
Is retatrutide approved?
No. Retatrutide is not FDA-approved, so it cannot be legally prescribed or filled at a U.S. pharmacy. Lilly has reported results from Phase 3 trials: TRIUMPH-1 in May 2026, then TRIUMPH-2 (adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity or overweight) and TRIUMPH-3 (adults with severe obesity and cardiovascular disease) on July 23, 2026.1
When could retatrutide be available?
Lilly plans to submit a Biologics License Application for retatrutide to the FDA in Q1 2027.1 Lilly had earlier listed retatrutide among drugs it might submit by the end of 2026, and said it needed more time for manufacturing and quality-control data.2
The FDA’s goal is to act on an application within 10 months under standard review, or 6 months under priority review.3 If Lilly files in early 2027, an FDA decision would typically come months later — so not before later in 2027 at the earliest.
How much will retatrutide cost?
There is no U.S. pharmacy price for retatrutide, because it is not approved. Lilly has not announced a price.
What about retatrutide sold online?
Products sold online as retatrutide for “research use only” are unapproved. Lilly sued six U.S. companies over them in August 2026.4 LowerScript does not list, link to or recommend these products.
